My Turbo-Charged Breakfast

My Turbo-Charged Breakfast

This is what I am refuelling on after my morning exercises. It keeps me full until the next day (when I am on 24 hr intermittent fast). But this post is not about my fast, but rather my breakfast :).

Here are ingredients of my breakfast. Bon appetite!

Sprouted buckwheat

Rich in minerals, amino- acids, enzymes, and easily digestible source of protein. It has 8 essential amino acids. This is a great product for weight loss, and help manage diabetes, cardiovascular disease, arthritis, and allergy. Sprouted buckwheat protects against fatty liver and known for its anti inflammatory effects. It is great source of insoluble fibre, so keeps you constipation free. This is also gluten free grain. High in bioflavonoids and co-enzyme Q10. It also contains the B vitamins, magnesium, manganese, and selenium.

How do I sprout it?

I rinse, drain and soak raw buckwheat in filtered water overnight. Next day I pour it into colander and rinse. Don’t leave too big quantity in a colander. I rinse it well, couple of times per day as they can get slimy. Then I leave it in colander at room temperature all day. Or I do the same by placing it in mesh bag. Then let them dry in a plate and when dry place in the fridge. The sprouts will be ready within 24 hours.

Almond Milk or Kefir

When I run out of my homemade almond milk I use Nutty Bruce Organic activated almond milk or kefir. In this recipe I used Aziva Lactose free probiotic kefir.
